The Ride length c. 10 miles. Increased distance across open farmland from previous years
Starting point is at Owslow Farm, Carsington located on B5035 with OS ref 237 516.
The first horses will be able to start at 9.00 am. Last riders to start before 11.30am. Further details will be confirmed by email in due course.
Closing date for entries: Sunday 2nd Aug 2026.
Entry Fee: £30. Upon completion of the ride a food voucher will be issued.
Donations will be divided between: Riding for the Disabled Association (Scropton), Derby Mountain Rescue Team & Rotary Charities

Notes from Peter..
- Drivers coming via junction 28 on the M1 SHOULD NOT follow their Sat Navs, which takes one on a colourful journey around the back lanes and narrow streets of Wirksworth. Instead travel down the A38 towards Ripley, then along the A610 to Ambergate, then north to Cromford ( Matlock).They can use their Sat Nav after Cromford
- We have good parking conditions but please check where the tow hook is on your vehicles … just in-case we have to tow vehicles off the field!

Photography: By entering the event permission for photographs taken on the day by the Rotary Club of Ashbourne or its representatives is assumed to be given for use in advertising or other publicity for any charity ride organised by the club
Equine Flu Vaccination. I have valid proof of vaccination.

RULES & CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
1: BY SIGNING THIS ENTRY FORM and paying the fee, the entrant agrees to adhere to the Rules & Conditions of Entry
2: THE ENTRANT CONFIRMS to be in possession of insurance (or that of the owner if not the rider) covering their participation in this event and that it provides third party liability cover in the event of any claim for loss, damage &/or injury howsoever caused.
3: EQUINE FLU VACCINATION : To allow participation, every rider will be required on arrival & before unloading, to present for inspection by the organizers, a valid proof of vaccination given within the last 12 months . (Please note:any proof of vaccination dated within 7 days of the event taking place is invalid) and failure to produce a valid proof document will disqualify the entrant from participation.
4: THE ENTRANT CONSENTS to any photographs taken on the day by the Rotary Club of Ashbourne &/or its representative being used for Rotary publicity &/or advertising purposes in connection with this event and/or future similar events organized by Rotary Club of Ashbourne.
5: RIDERS MUST wear a hard hat with chin straps to current safety standards and suitable riding clothing which may include a body protector.
6: RIDERS MUST (i) wear the wrist band ride numbers issued by the Ride Registrar, (ii) keep to the marked course, obey all route signs and Marshals’ instructions (iii) Exercise great care at all times.
7: RIDERS MUST remember this ride is NOT a competition, race or time trial and speed is not a consideration. Reckless riders will be warned and may be asked to leave the course
8: RIDERS MUST observe the Country Code, respect riders, walkers and cyclists using the bridle paths
9: RIDERS MUST give way to traffic on all roads and observe the Highway Code
10: ALL RIDERS UNDER 16 MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A RESPONSIBLE ADULT
11: DOGS must be kept on a lead and under control at all times
12: LEAVING THE RIDE Riders, for whatever reason, choosing or needing to leave the marked course and not return to the Start/Finish field, must inform the Marshal nearest their departure from the course, so that the organisers know they are safe and not lost on the course.
13: THE COURSE is set out primarily on private farm land, unclassified roads and bridle paths and riders taking part in this Charity Horse Ride do so at their own risk. The Rotary Club of Ashbourne has no control over conditions underfoot & to the extent permitted by Law, does not accept liability &/or responsibility for any loss, damage or injury to any animal, person, vehicle, trailer or other property howsoever this may be caused.
14: FAILURE TO COMPLY: Any participant failing to comply with Items 2-12 of these Rules & Conditions may be asked to leave the event.
15. EVENT CANCELLATION & REFUNDS. Should the Ride be cancelled due to adverse weather conditions a full refund will be given. No refunds for other reasons will be given after the Closing Date. Any request for a refund should be emailed to ashbournerotary@gmail.com .
16:BE AWARE; As in previous years some cattle may remain in a small number of fields along the route. Also a clay pigeon shoot may be taking place a short distance away from the ride adjacent to the High Peak Trail.
